Many changes in the marketplace over the years relate to the evolving relationship between salespeople and brokerages. Currently, most salespeople are independent contractors, working with the support of a brokerage and under the supervision of the Broker of Record. In the past couple of years, however, there has been a move away from large corporate franchises towards more flexible independent companies.
